Their are scattern pops in Northern and Northeast IA. Also, one iso pop in SW IA in E. Fremont County. Any signings especially in SW IA would be appreciated.

Northern Prairie Skink

Status Unknown

Found in isolated pockets Central, Western, NC and NW Iowa. Favor sandy or loose soil in a grassland habitat. Look for them a few days after a prairie burn in the spring. Focus on any rocky areas. In Central and NC IA, they like to use the rock piles (glacial erratics) that farmers gather from their filed and put them in a pile.

Slender Glass Lizard

Rare

Found in isolated pockets in SC and SE Iowa. Sightings would be appreciated.

Speckled Kingsnake

RARE

Found in the Southern 1/3 of Iowa. I'm unaware of any meta-pops. Any info regarding populations would be very important.
